Tsuchiya’s signature works are the series of pieces that look like Dango dumplings on a stick, titled as “Leaves”, and the “Flower” series in which he colors in the canvas in multiple paints. He sometimes takes notes on materials such as “sushi”, people and even service information of a bus. Characterized by the generous use of vibrant colors and a hearty feel of plants, “Leaves” and “Flower” both attract many fans. In recent years, he has received favorable reputations for his works for sliding screens of a newly-built house and walls at a beauty salon and foster home.
