On January 7, 2026, we established the "Heralbony Foundation" with the aim of addressing the fundamental social issues faced by people with disabilities.

The Heralbony Foundation was established to address social issues surrounding various people with disabilities, their families, and supporters that cannot be fully approached through existing business activities as a company, and to continuously question "what constitutes a society where everyone can live with dignity" from a long-term perspective and continue to practice.

The establishment of the Heralbony Foundation stems from the long-held desire of Heralbony co-founders Takaya and Fumi-to Matsuda for "a society where my brother can live happily."

Shota, Takaya and Fumi-to's older brother by four years, has autism with severe intellectual disabilities. However, Shota is not engaged in artistic activities at a welfare facility. The desire for his brother's happiness refers to the realization of a society where the dignity of all people with disabilities living in society is protected, and they can live authentically, regardless of whether they have artistic talent.

January 7, the establishment date of the Heralbony Foundation, is the birthday of Shota, Takaya and Fumi-to Matsuda's brother.

Shota, who has autism with severe intellectual disabilities, is the origin of Heralbony's birth, and the company name itself is derived from a mysterious word Shota wrote in his sketchbook when he was in elementary school.

Aiming for "a society where our brother can live happily."

On his brother Shota's birthday, we established the Heralbony Foundation.

Message from the Founders

"My son is bedridden; he can't do anything.
Although I support Heralbony, sometimes I feel sad."

We sometimes hear such words during our activities.
"Just living is precious." "Existence itself has value."
Many seemingly correct words come to mind.
However, when we think of the time and pain the person who spoke to us has gone through, we cannot immediately respond with words.

I have heard many times my mother's story of how she worried, "Will society accept this child?" when my brother was diagnosed with intellectual disabilities.
This is still a reality that many families quietly bear.
That is why we do not want to simply dismiss it with correct and beautiful words.
At the same time, we do not want to give up.

Can do / cannot do. Useful / not useful.
We want to overwhelmingly affirm lives that are considered to be outside the lines society has unconsciously drawn.
What does it mean for everyone to be naturally present as a member of society?
In what moments does the richness of living reside?
There are no clear answers to these questions.
The term "disability welfare" is layered with contradictions, pain, and prayers that cannot be easily organized.
That is why this foundation is not just a place to provide answers,
but a place where we want to contemplate life itself, pause, and continue to ask questions.

Life is sometimes difficult, and there are moments when we feel unrewarded.
Nevertheless, we want to continue to bear this question with you.
This is why we dedicate our lives to this activity.

Experimental cafe with avatar robots working at Morioka ISAI PARK

From February 6 (Friday) to February 23 (Monday/holiday), 2026, an experimental cafe called "Avatar Robot Cafe DAWN ver.β" will be open for a limited time at HERALBONY ISAI PARK in Morioka, Iwate Prefecture.

"Avatar Robot Cafe DAWN ver.β" is an experimental cafe operated by Ory Laboratory Inc., which aims to "resolve human loneliness." Its flagship store in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, has become a popular spot attracting 60,000 visitors annually and has even been featured in textbooks.

People with severe physical disabilities, intractable diseases, or those who find it difficult to go out or move around due to family care or nursing, operate the avatar robot OriHime remotely to take orders, serve food, and converse with customers, developing new ways of working.

Morioka, the location for the seventh caravan cafe, is also where Yuta Banda lived. Banda was a close friend of Ory Yoshifuji, Representative Director and CEO of Ory Laboratory, and worked remotely using the avatar robot OriHime. Banda served as Yoshifuji's right-hand man and secretary until his passing in 2017, and his aspirations were instrumental in realizing the avatar robot cafe.
