Special Exhibition

Repetitive rhythms, resonating variations. "Repetition and Variation," an exhibition of original artwork by Hung Kei Shiu, Yuriko Miyakawa, Yu Kitamura, and Koji Nishioka.

Dates: Friday, August 14 - Monday, September 28, 2026 *The gallery is closed on Tuesdays (or the following day if Tuesday is a national holiday).

HERALBONY LABORATORY GINZA Gallery (Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) will host the special exhibition "Repetition and Variation" from Friday, August 14 to Monday, September 28. This exhibition will feature the first HERALBONY exhibition by Hung Kei Shiu (Creativity Explored), whose works are part of the permanent collection at the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) and will be shown for the first time in Japan. Also exhibiting are Yuriko Miyakawa (Kobo-Shu), Yu Kitamura (Yamanami Kobo), and Koji Nishioka (Atelier Corners).

This exhibition introduces the rhythm created through repetition and the richness of variation that resides within it. Their works are characterized by subtle fluctuations and changes. Countless repeated moments accumulate without disappearing, manifesting as variations. By listening closely to the flow of time inscribed in each artwork, viewers will experience the unique resonance played by each "repetition and variation."

Special events are scheduled for Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, September 13 during the exhibition period. We invite you to enjoy these events alongside the exhibition.
