There was news about research that could remove the chromosome that causes Down syndrome.
Among the reactions to that news, there were comments such as,
"It's wonderful that there will be fewer 'pitiful people'," and "Unhappy people should be reduced."
But there's something I'd like you to stop and think about for a moment.
Are people with Down syndrome really "pitiful people"?
In one survey, 80% of people with Down syndrome said that
they "feel happy every day."
Unconscious "prejudice" sometimes creates rifts between people and makes life difficult.
The removal of such "prejudice"
cannot be achieved by technology, but only by the human heart.
Let's aim for a society where people with and without disabilities understand each other,
and can walk their own happy paths.
HERALBONY
BUDDY WEEK
Becoming a unique "Buddy" and walking alongside
- HERALBONY BUDDY WEEK -
March 21 - April 2, 2025
March 21 "World Down Syndrome Day"
April 2 "World Autism Awareness Day"
What can we do on these two international days,
established by the UN to inspire global action?
HERALBONY has named the period encompassing these two international days
"HERALBONY BUDDY WEEK."
During this period, as unique "Buddies" who walk alongside,
we aim to raise awareness about "autism" and "Down syndrome" among many people.
This year, in addition to placing opinion advertisements in newspapers,
we are planning sales of limited-edition products and events.
Beyond the frameworks of "autism," "Down syndrome," and "disability,"
we aim for a world where each irreplaceable individual can live authentically.

LIMITED EDITION
Limited edition item
We will be releasing a limited edition T-shirt featuring art by Yasuhiro Kobayashi, exclusive to "HERALBONY BUDDY WEEK 2025," and individually numbered.
It will be available for purchase at HERALBONY LABORATORY GINZA or on HERALBONY's official online store.
The blue artwork, representing "healing, hope, and serenity" – the symbolic colors of Autism Awareness Day – has been faithfully reproduced. This is a special T-shirt, with only 15 pieces produced for each artwork.
The three artworks selected for this occasion are all based on blue, the symbolic color of Autism Awareness Day. From mountains where you can almost feel the clear air, to the magnificent Adriatic Sea, and a scene of relaxation in the waves, no two shades of "blue" are the same. Experience HERALBONY's message, which aims for a world where individuals can live true to themselves, transcending the frameworks of autism, Down syndrome, and disability, as irreplaceable beings.
