S. Proski / S. Proski "Untitled" | ¥26,400 (tax included)

Visually impaired artist S. Proski has used blindness itself as a visual medium, focusing on the floating objects and distortions he perceives in the blind world. He cuts out pieces of canvas and meticulously stitches and collages them together by hand to create layered, tactile compositions.

Using stitching and collage, he constructs, deconstructs, and reconstructs images—this material, sometimes roundabout, method is a means of understanding the invisible visual world, and is full of ingenuity in exploring paintings through touch rather than sight.

Using a process of recycling and remixing, S. Proski attempts to heal the wounds caused by meritocracy, assimilation, and our relationship to painting.
