This initiative is not merely about product creation, but also about disseminating culture rooted in the Iwate region and conveying the appeal of Nambu ironware nationwide.

Through numerous trials and explorations, the fusion of traditional craftsmanship and art has taken shape by combining the Nambu ironware body with a ceramic lid. This has resulted in a new Nambu ironware piece that combines design and functional beauty, harmonizing the delicate handiwork of artisans with the energetic expressions of artists.

■Limited edition items commemorating the collaboration

■About Suzuki Morihisa Studio
This is a long-established Nambu ironware maker with a 400-year history in Morioka, a castle town where the Nanbu domain (Iwate Prefecture) built its castle during the Edo period. The Suzuki family has served as official casters for the domain since they were summoned from Kai Province, the Nanbu family's homeland, in the second year of Kanei (1625), and have continued to do so for generations. They continue to produce Nambu ironware today, preserving traditional techniques.
