A tie featuring Tomohito Nihei's art "Deep into the Night ~Salad Bowl~." Ginza Taya, a long-established textile store, has faithfully reproduced the delicate brushstrokes and colors using their silk weaving technology.

The elegant luster and comfortable knot of 100% silk. From business to formal occasions, it subtly adds an artistic story to your attire.

Product Features

■Delicate weaving that expresses art, with an elegant sheen

The advanced silk weaving technique that reproduces the brushstrokes of this unique artist is the work of craftsmen at the Taya Textile Studio in Yamagata. By allowing the weft threads to float as much as possible, a three-dimensional effect is created, resembling an embossed pattern with a lustrous finish.

■An easy-to-tie knot that resists losing its shape

Most ties use a "1-row, 3-layer" fabric with three threads in a line, and no threads pass through the back (middle) of the fabric where the pattern is not visible. Ginza Taya's fabric is "1-row, 6-layer." It uses more than double the usual number of colors, and threads are firmly passed through the back (middle) to maintain an even, uniform thickness. Furthermore, using extra-fine threads, half the thickness of regular threads, results in a high-density, supple fabric. This ensures that the knot stays beautiful without losing its shape, providing a comfortable tie.

About Ginza Taya

In 1905, Taya was founded in Ginza as a Western notions merchant. It dealt in imported goods, then called "Karamono" (Chinese goods). Gentlemen in Western attire, as well as foreign residents, were said to have visited the store. As time progressed, Taya quickly began producing Japanese-made ties and has since become known as "Taya, the tie specialist." Today, their original products also include shirts and jackets, and like their ties, all fabrics are woven in their own workshop.
