Shigetaka Wada

HERALBONY's art ties, born from a collaboration between traditional Japanese techniques and unique artists, are luxurious 100% silk items.

The delicate artwork is faithfully reproduced through the silk weaving techniques of Ginza Taya, a long-established textile store. The use of extra-fine threads increases the density of the fabric, allowing for an easy-to-tie and beautiful knot. The three-dimensional weave and elegant luster created by the craftsmanship are perfect for special events and formal occasions.

Enjoy a unique and special style with HERALBONY's art ties, the origin of HERALBONY.

Product Features

■ Delicate weave expressing art, with an elegant luster

The advanced silk weaving technique that reproduces the brushstrokes of unique artists is the work of artisans at the Taya Weaving Studio in Yamagata. By minimizing the pressure on the weft threads, a three-dimensional effect like a relief with a lustrous finish is created.

■ Easy-to-tie knot that resists losing its shape

Conventional ties use fabric with "3 layers in 1 row," where three threads are aligned on a single line, and no threads pass through the back (middle) of the fabric where the pattern is not visible. Ginza Taya's fabric has "6 layers in 1 row." It uses more than double the usual number of colors, and threads are firmly passed through the back (middle) to maintain a uniform and consistent thickness. Additionally, extra-fine threads, half the thickness of regular threads, are used, resulting in high fabric density and a supple texture. This ensures that the knot remains beautiful without losing its shape, providing a comfortable wearing experience.

About Ginza Taya

Taya was founded in Ginza in 1905 as a Western fancy goods store. They dealt in imported goods, then called "karamono." Gentlemen in Western attire and foreign residents were said to have visited the store. As time progressed, Taya was quick to embark on manufacturing domestic ties, leading to its current reputation as "Taya of Ties." Today, their original products also include shirts and jackets, and like their ties, all fabrics are woven in their own workshop.

お手入れ方法 The delicate weave expressing the art, and the delicate yet elegant luster, are made possible by the craftsman's silk weaving technique.
To ensure longer use, please store the tie by hanging it on a hook or hanger to prevent it from losing its shape or wrinkling.
If you cannot hang it, please roll it up for storage.
Please avoid washing or dry cleaning, as this may damage the tie's original texture or cause it to lose its shape.
Also, please be careful as friction and rubbing can cause scratches and pilling.
