◼︎About the exhibition "Distant Closeness: The World of Ittetsu Matsuoka and Yamanami Kobo"
This exhibition consists of works that photographer Ittetsu Matsuoka has collected over many years, as well as new photographs taken during his visit to "Yamanami Kobo," a welfare facility in Shiga Prefecture, and collaborative works with artists belonging to the facility. The participating artists are four individuals: Rikuto Yoshida, Yuki Ino, Yuya Oji, and NANA. Artists who received photographs taken by Matsuoka layered drawings on them, and by returning their works as "responses," a dialogue like an exchange of letters was born between photography and painting.

When artists who express themselves in different genres and methods interact with each other's works, it creates trust and dialogue that transcends words. The world captured through Matsuoka's lens and the world seen through the artists' eyes intertwine to create new works, bringing to light fundamental questions about "seeing," "connecting," and "existing."
