◼︎About the Exhibition "Distant Proximity" - The Universe of Ittetsu Matsuoka and Yamanami Kobo -
This exhibition consists of works that photographer Ittetsu Matsuoka has collected over many years, as well as new photographs taken during his visit to Yamanami Kobo, a welfare facility in Shiga Prefecture, and collaborative works with artists affiliated with the facility. The participating artists are Rikuuto Yoshida, Yuki Ino, Yuya Oji, and NANA. After receiving photographs taken by Matsuoka, the artists added drawings, creating a "response" that generated a dialogue between photography and painting, much like an exchange of letters.

When these artists, who express themselves through different genres and methods, interact with each other's works, it creates a trust and dialogue that transcends words. The world captured through Matsuoka's lens and the world seen through the artists' eyes intertwine, giving birth to new works and raising fundamental questions about "seeing," "connecting," and "existing."
