◼︎About the Exhibition "Distant Closeness - The Universe of Ittetsu Matsuoka and Yamanami Kobo -"
This exhibition is comprised of photographer Ittetsu Matsuoka's long-accumulated works, new photographs taken during his visit to Yamanami Kobo, a welfare facility in Shiga Prefecture, and collaborative works with artists affiliated with the same facility. The participating artists are Rihito Yoshida, Yuki Ino, Yuya Oji, and NANA, four individuals. The artists received photographs taken by Matsuoka, added drawings, and returned the works as "responses," creating a dialogue between photography and painting like a correspondence.

The trust and dialogue that transcend words are born when these artists, who express themselves in different genres and methods, interact with each other's works. A new work is born when the world captured by Matsuoka's lens and the world seen through the eyes of the artists intersect, raising fundamental questions about "seeing," "connecting," and "existing."
