◼︎About the exhibition "Distant Closeness: The Universe of Ittetsu Matsuoka and Yamanami Kobo"
This exhibition features a collection of works that photographer Ittetsu Matsuoka has taken over many years, along with new photographs taken during his visit to Yamanami Kobo, a welfare facility in Shiga Prefecture, and collaborative works with artists belonging to the same facility. The participating artists are Rikuto Yoshida, Yuki Ino, Yuya Oji, and NANA. By creating drawings over Matsuoka's photographs and "responding" with their own works, a dialogue akin to an exchange of letters has emerged between photography and painting.

The interaction between these artists, who express themselves in different genres and methods, fosters trust and dialogue that transcends words. The world captured through Matsuoka's lens and the world seen through the artists' eyes intertwine to create new works, raising fundamental questions about "seeing," "connecting," and "existing."
