◼︎About the exhibition "Distant Proximity" - The Universe of Ittetsu Matsuoka and Yamanami Kobo -
This exhibition features new photographs taken by photographer Ittetsu Matsuoka during his visit to the Yamanami Kobo welfare facility in Shiga Prefecture, in addition to works he has photographed over many years. It also includes collaborative works with artists affiliated with the same facility. The participating artists are Rikuuto Yoshida, Yuki Ino, Yuya Oji, and NANA. The artists received photographs taken by Matsuoka, layered drawings on them, and inscribed their works as "responses," creating a dialogue like a correspondence between photography and painting.

When these artists, who express themselves through different genres and methods, interact with each other's works, it creates trust and dialogue that transcends words. New works are born when the world captured by Matsuoka's lens intersects with the world seen through the artists' eyes, bringing forth fundamental questions such as "seeing," "connecting," and "existing."
