《June 14》Special Event "Before Words"
The HERALBONY Art Prize aims to be "a place to reveal the process by which society's language changes in the presence of art," rather than "a place to select excellent works." This year, as a first attempt, we will hold a special event "Before Words" on Sunday, June 14, during the exhibition period.
Program Outline
Join us for a conversation as we explore the artworks with aesthetician Dr. Asa Ito, freely sharing our observations and feelings. What we see in the same artwork differs from person to person. By borrowing the perspectives of those around us, new facets of the artwork, which we might never have discovered on our own, suddenly emerge. Let's share such moments of discovery together.
This is a talk session with the artists of the works encountered in Part 1 and their families, as well as Yuka Komei, who regularly supports the artists at Atelier Bravo. We will reflect on the art appreciation experience from Part 1 while hearing about their creative process and daily lives. The words exchanged will also be an opportunity for the artists and their families to re-examine their own works. Please join us and enjoy this moment where the three perspectives—the creator, the people who share their lives, and the viewers of the artwork—quietly overlap.

We will be holding an original ZINE making event titled "A Little Spark: See, Choose, Create a ZINE" to give form to what you feel and perceive after viewing the HERALBONY Art Prize 2026 exhibition.
This program allows you to express your feelings through pictures and words, not just by viewing the artworks, but by engaging with your own sensibilities. It includes pages that delve into the artists' creative backgrounds and a viewing guide for the HERALBONY Art Prize. Even those unfamiliar with art can easily enjoy this creative experience. Please feel free to join us.
Additionally, free distribution will be available on weekends. Please enjoy it along with the exhibition viewing.

With the cooperation of Nippon Broadcasting System, we will distribute audio content for art appreciation.
This original content features Nippon Broadcasting System announcer Eri Higashijima as the moderator, introducing the highlights of the award-winning works of the HERALBONY Art Prize 2026 along with Marie Kitamura of Heralbony.
It's like secretly listening in on two people talking about art. This content, which you can enjoy while appreciating the artworks, will help you discover your favorite pieces and is available on Nippon Broadcasting System's podcast and within HERALBONY CLUB. You can play it on your own smartphone even at the venue.
