Yoshiko

This rare tweed gilet faithfully reproduces the textile woven by artist Yoshiko using the "Saori weaving" technique. We've elevated Yoshiko's original hand-woven work, for which she personally selected the threads, into a standout piece in collaboration with Japan Homespun, a company renowned for producing tweed fabrics for leading brands. This gilet offers two ways to wear it, allowing you to enjoy two different styles.

Product Features

■ "Saori Weaving" accumulated like a diary

"Saori weaving" is a technique often practiced in welfare settings, characterized by its freedom from rules and patterns. The weaver's "now" is poured into the weft threads, creating one-of-a-kind fabrics that accumulate like a diary, directly reflecting each weaver's sensibility onto the cloth. By applying maximum respect and effort to these fabrics, we have created tweed with an unprecedented depth.

■ About Japan Homespun

Japan Homespun, a manufacturing company based in Hanamaki City, the same city as Rumbini-en where artist Yoshiko works, is a tweed professional involved in product creation for world-renowned fashion brands.

This project began when Hisanori Kikuchi, President and CEO of Japan Homespun, a company that handles world-famous brands, visited the Rumbini Art Museum and encountered Saori weaving works, deeply impressed by their weaving expressions.

■ Reversible 2-way design that can be worn front or back

The unevenness and subtle variations created by the artist's hand are part of its inherent individuality. With the desire to maximize the natural expression of the fabric, we made it a 2-way design that allows for two different styles. You can wear it with the V-neck in front to showcase a bow tie or scarf, or as a round-neck vest.

Model height: 172cm
