This rare tweed gilet faithfully reproduces the textile woven by artist Yoshiko using the "Saori weaving" technique. The artist herself selected the threads and wove the piece, which was then elevated into a unique garment in collaboration with Japan Homespun, a company that handles tweed fabrics for renowned brands. With its 2-way front and back design, you can enjoy two different styles.

Product Features
■ "Saori weaving" that layers like a diary
"Saori weaving" is a weaving method often practiced in welfare settings that is free from rules and patterns. The artist's "present moment" is poured into the weft threads, and the one-of-a-kind fabric, layered like a diary, reflects the sensibilities of each weaver directly onto the cloth. By treating this fabric with the utmost respect and effort, we have created a tweed with an unprecedented depth.
■ About Japan Homespun
Japan Homespun, a manufacturing company located in the same Hanamaki City as the Runbini-en where artist Yoshiko belongs, is a tweed professional that produces products for world-renowned fashion brands.
This project began when Hisanori Kikuchi, President and CEO of Japan Homespun, which works with world-famous brands, visited the Runbini Art Museum and encountered Saori weaving works, and was deeply moved by the weaving expressions.
■ 2-way design that can be worn front or back
The unevenness and natural variations created by the artist's hand are their unique individuality. With the desire to maximize the natural expression of the fabric, we made it a 2-way design that allows for two different styles. You can wear it with the V-neck in front to show off a bow tie or scarf, or as a round-neck vest.

Model height: 172cm
