Finnish artists and Santa Claus come to the Ginza Gallery

Imagine Everyday!

From November 29 (Saturday) to December 26 (Friday), 2025, HERALBONY LABORATORY GINZA Gallery in Ginza, Tokyo, will introduce Finnish outsider art under the theme, "Experience Finnish Culture and Lifestyle Expressed by Outsider Artists!"

The exhibition will feature works by internationally acclaimed artists such as Kalevi Helvetti, who sublimates his imagination in various forms—visual art, music, performance, poetry, and film—while dressed as a vampire, and Maima Tani, who creates intricate drawings and crocheted pieces inspired by nature and marine life.

These mysterious and joyful art pieces, born from unique perspectives, are full of playfulness and effortlessly transcend the boundaries between us.

Iwate's new brand rice "Hakugin no Hikari" features original artwork by Satoru Kobayashi for its logo

The logo for Iwate Prefecture's new brand rice, "Hakugin no Hikari," features artwork by Satoru Kobayashi, an artist residing in Iwate Prefecture.

"Hakugin no Hikari" is a brand rice that will begin full-scale sales from the 2025 harvest, following "Ginga no Shizuku" and "Konjiki no Kaze," as an original rice from Iwate Prefecture. It cooks up fluffy, and despite its large grains, it has a refreshing taste that makes it a versatile rice suitable for a wide range of dishes, from Japanese to Western.

The logo mark, an oval representing a grain of rice, is divided into seven parts based on the character for "light" (光). Each part is adorned with words symbolizing "Hakugin no Hikari."

Artist Satoru Kobayashi also participated in the debut event for "Hakugin no Hikari" held at ISAI PARK.

The logo mark used on the packaging is an original work drawn by artist Satoru Kobayashi (affiliated with L'Arche Museum), who connects words in his art. The catchphrase was created together with the logo mark; "Yuki Oki" (雪多き, much snow) expresses the deep snow of northern Iwate Prefecture, which is suitable for cultivation, as well as the whiteness characteristic of Hakugin no Hikari and the dignified atmosphere conveyed by its name. "Kedakaki" (気高き, noble) refers to the high-altitude areas also suitable for cultivation, and also embodies a strong awareness of solving social issues.

The product is available at retailers within Iwate Prefecture and at Iwate Prefecture antenna shops.
