The representative works by Tsuchiya can be divided into two groups: “Leaves," which looks like a dumpling stuck on a skewer, and “Flower," in which the entire screen is painted in multiple colors. In addition, he sometimes takes notes on concrete objects and people, such as sushi, or on bus operations. The vivid colors of both “leaves" and “flowers" are common, and combined with the gentle image of plants, they have many fans. In recent years, he has also painted the fusuma of newly-built houses and the walls of beauty salons and children's homes, and his work has been well received.
