Introducing Some of Our Exhibiting Artists

Kazumi Kamae

Kazumi Kamae

Born in 1966. Lives in Shiga Prefecture. Joined Yamanami Kobo in 1985. Unable to easily convey her feelings to others, she continually creates three-dimensional figures of people she wishes to attract as a tool for communication. All of her models are men she is fond of. After deciding on a subject and shaping the initial form, she meticulously embeds fine, rice-grain-sized ceramic particles over the entire surface. For larger pieces, it can take over two months to complete, with countless particles covering the entire work and transforming into various shapes. She wants to be recognized by the people she loves. To this day, that desire is the sole motivation behind all of her creations.

Kaisuke Mori

Keisuke Mori

Born in 1989, Keisuke Mori resides in Ise City, Mie Prefecture, and is affiliated with "Kibou no Sono" in Matsusaka City, Mie Prefecture. He began his artistic journey at the age of 12 at the "HUMAN・ELEMENT" atelier. At 17, he started oil painting and has since become a regular exhibitor, consistently being selected for national open-submission exhibitions and the Mie Prefectural Exhibition each year. He has held solo exhibitions in Aichi, Gifu, and Mie, and has participated in numerous group exhibitions overseas in countries such as Germany, France, Spain, China, and Vietnam. His current distinctive use of light and shadow in his color compositions was inspired by advice from Mr. Murabayashi, the director of "Kibou no Sono." His hobbies include video games and reading.

Sakamoto Daichi

Daichi Sakamoto

After graduating from Ibaraki Prefectural Miho Special Needs School, Daichi joined Jinenjo Club in 2016. He has a gentle and humorous personality and approaches all tasks responsibly. He participated in the Hong Kong performance of the Creative Dengaku Dance in 2019. He possesses a free and expansive sensibility, enjoying playing drums, dancing, and singing. In his painting, he emphasizes "the movement of the brush sliding," creating an impression that merges with dance. His "Dogu (Clay Figurine)" (2019), which focused on shape and was created by repeatedly tracing the form, was well-received and exhibited in the mayor's waiting room at City Hall.

Masami Yamagiwa

Masami Yamagiwa

Born in 1972, Masami Yamagiwa lives in Shiga Prefecture. He has been a member of Yamanami Kobo since 1990. His daily life follows a set routine, including cooking, laundry, cleaning his room, and collecting old paper, with creative activities being one part of this routine at the same time each day. When he first joined, he was only able to create plates, bowls, and other items he had learned to make in school. However, through various experiences and the influence of his peers, his artwork gradually evolved into unique three-dimensional forms. His serious and earnest personality is reflected in his artistic style; he can endlessly mass-produce items of the same shape, almost like an assembly line. His signature work, "Masami Jizo," has been produced for over 20 years without change, and the hundreds of thousands of figures he has created are a testament to his way of life.

The world you live in will not become even one millimeter more convenient. In fact, your thoughts may become more fragmented, perhaps going against the trend of a convenient world. There may be no change in the physical aspects of the world you live in either.
But there might be a change in the hearts of you and those around you.

What we cultivate is not a "market" but an "ideology."
