S. Proski, a visually impaired artist, has developed blindness itself as a medium for visual expression. Proski focuses on the floating objects and distortions perceived in the world of blindness, meticulously hand-stitching and collaging cut canvas scraps into layered, tactile compositions.

Through stitching and collage, Proski constructs, deconstructs, and reconstructs images. This material and circuitous method is a means to understand the invisible world of sight, full of ingenuity in exploring painting not through vision, but through touch.

Using processes of recycling and remixing, S. Proski attempts to heal the wounds caused by ableism, assimilation, and her relationship with painting.
