Morioka's traditional crafts, beloved by people throughout the ages, have been reborn as new Nambu ironware, blending with the colorful expressions of unique artists to create a breath of fresh culture and creativity. ■ Thoughts on the collaboration
This initiative is not just about creating a product, but also about promoting the culture rooted in the Iwate region, and is imbued with the desire to spread the appeal of Nanbu ironware throughout the country.

After much trial and error and exploration, the combination of a Nambu ironware body and a ceramic lid resulted in a fusion of traditional craftsmanship and art, resulting in the creation of a new Nambu ironware piece that combines design and functional beauty, with the artisan's delicate handiwork and the artist's energetic expression resonating with each other.

■About the featured art
"Little Apple" is an artwork by Nozomi Fujita, created specifically for this collaboration.
Kaoru Iga's "Green Landscape" art evokes the lush green scenery of Morioka
The artwork featured was "(Untitled) (Blue)" by Midori Kudo, who is from Iwate Prefecture.

■About Suzuki Morihisa Studio
This long-established Nambu ironware shop has been in business for 400 years in Morioka, the castle town where the Nambu clan (Iwate Prefecture) had its castle during the Edo period. The Suzuki family was hired as official casters by the Nambu clan's home province of Koshu in 1625, and has served the clan for generations ever since. Even today, they continue to make Nambu ironware using traditional techniques.
