◼︎About the exhibition "Distant Proximity - The Universe of Ittetsu Matsuoka and Yamanami Kobo"
This exhibition consists of works that photographer Ittetsu Matsuoka has collected over many years, as well as new photographs taken during his visit to the welfare facility "Yamanami Kobo" in Shiga Prefecture, and collaborative works with artists belonging to the same facility. The participating artists are Rikuto Yoshida, Tomoki Ino, Yuya Oji, and NANA. By receiving photographs taken by Matsuoka and adding drawings, the artists "responded" by inscribing their works, creating a dialogue like correspondence between photography and painting.

What emerges when these artists, who express themselves through different genres and methods, interact with each other's works is a trust and dialogue that transcends words. As the world captured by Matsuoka's lens and the world seen through the eyes of the artists intersect, new works are born, and fundamental questions of "seeing," "connecting," and "existing" emerge.
