"Saori weaving" is a method where the weaver weaves freely according to their sensibilities. We elevated its unique, unbound character through the hands of skilled craftsmen. Through repeated dialogues between the artist and craftsmen, a miraculous tweed fabric was born where the expressions of two different entities intersected.

■ About Japan Homespun

Japan Homespun, a manufacturing company in Hanamaki City, the same city as Rumbini-en, where artist Ryoko belongs, is a tweed professional that handles the production of products for world-renowned fashion brands.

This project began when Hisanori Kikuchi, president of Japan Homespun, which works with famous brands worldwide, visited the Rumbini Museum and was impressed by the weaving expressions of Saori weaving.
