2023 marked HERALBONY's 5th anniversary. While experiencing rapid business growth, organizational expansion, and new business development with strong tailwinds, it was a year of continuously questioning how to protect and maximize the core values that define us.

On January 31, 2023, HERALBONY, which had declared the previous year that this day would be "Unique Brilliance Day" (Isai no Hi) and would take action towards "a world where unique brilliance is commonplace," put up corporate advertising posters.

Satoru Kobayashi,Taisuke Kinugasa, andAsuka Tazaki's artworks were featured as a backdrop to the words "A tax return that gives you goosebumps."

The poster, inspired by a real episode where an artist's parents contacted us saying, "Our son exceeded the dependent income threshold and is now filing his own tax return," created a huge buzz on social media and was highly praised in the advertising industry.

In "HERALBONY's 100-Year History EPISODE:06," we also interviewed Terunami Hasegawa, the creative director and copywriter who collaborated with us on this advertising campaign.

"DIVERSESSION PROGRAM," a new business embodying diversity

The attitude of evolving from a "unit" to a "company" was reflected in our initiatives, specifically the new business "DIVERSESSION PROGRAM" * by the Welfare Business Division.

The Welfare Business Division was established to create new business models that embody HERALBONY's philosophy and generate initiatives that can change society, even when a clear business strategy or divisional direction had not yet been defined. Noriko Jin, head of the division, and Fumi Kikunaga, a deaf founding member, discuss the division's journey.


"Seeing people as individuals, not just as 'people with disabilities,' and understanding what they want... Positively embracing individual differences and working together as a team towards a common goal. That was the essence of DE&I we wanted to convey through the program."

*The "DIVERSESSION PROGRAM" will be rebranded as "HERALBONY ACADEMY" from July 2025. Based on the practical knowledge gained through training, and with an eye toward joint research with universities, it explores organizational development that transforms "differences" into strengths in companies, local governments, and educational institutions.

To realize a world where the welfare sector truly moves forward

To realize the world that Takaya and Fuminori strongly wished for, where their elder brother Shota can be happy... a world where perceptions of people with disabilities and awareness of welfare significantly change, and the welfare sector truly moves forward.

We've also recounted various other episodes, such as the background and aspirations behind Akihiko Nagata's appointment as management advisor, who has a deep understanding of and concern for the welfare industry, as his parents have long been engaged in welfare-related work.

"It's wonderful that artists are now filing their own tax returns, and that parents can treat their children to meals. However, even if dozens or hundreds of people achieve this, it only means that we have helped that number of people. Not everyone can create art, and among the diverse people that exist, we are simply taking one step at a time towards a society where each individual's personality can shine as unique brilliance."
