"Pole Trailer" Original Painting

Many of you may recognize this artwork. This is "Pole Trailer," an artwork exhibited as a finalist in the HERALBONY ART Award 2025 exhibition. A pole trailer is

a vehicle used to transport large loads. If you look closely at the painting, can you see parts that resemble tires or a trailer...?

Maeda-san creates his works by using everyday objects like vehicles as motifs and drawing inspiration from photographs.The first thing he does is "deconstruct" the motif he wants to draw in his mind.

The colors are layered with several crayons, sometimes respecting the lines, and sometimes deliberately going against them.

For the "Pole Trailer" mentioned earlier, while transport vehicles are typically orange or red, Maeda-san incorporates his unique colors, unbound by the colors in the photographs, resulting in a lively and enjoyable artwork for viewers.

This style of art also sparks communication with others, acting like a quiz of "what is being depicted."

When asked, "What does painting mean to you as a job?", Maeda-san replied, "It's about creating something that everyone can see. I'm happy when people see and appreciate my work." It feels as though the joy of connecting with the world through painting is embodied in his artworks.

The surprising accent color, where you might wonder, "This color here?!", comes from a playful nod to the "tsumi" (stacking) in his beloved shogi (Japanese chess).
